As a true Scotsman, I think "no true Scotsman" may be the most common informal logical fallacy in diet/health discussions. Carnivore didn't work? You didn't do it right. Vegan health issues? You were never truly vegan. Keto wrecked your thyroid? Ribeye deficiency!


The last sentence here is the ultimate unlock to understanding metabolic health.

And not always is it disordered diet or even over consumption. Anything that perturbs the cell, interferes with fuel flux will look like insulin resistance. It is glucose that reveals insulin resistance, not causes it.



This seems to be the most indigestible morsel for people in a certain diet tribe.

It’s mostly the case, has been the last thirty years, that I reverse T2D with very high carbohydrate diets. What @ScottAppliedSci experienced sounds correct. Insulin resistance is mostly lipid-induced.

We have generated diabetes in mice with a high saturated and unsaturated fat diet. If your body is constantly in a surplus of calories from other sources, you can develop insulin resistance, hyperglycemia, and impaired glucose tolerance.


This is what happens when cult ideas clash with reality. He simply cannot process the world honestly because of his prior investment in falsehood. He’s “pot committed” to error.

😂😂😂 no evidence, only empty claims at least low-carbers share progress pictures, CGM data, labs, food logs, doctor reports... but the low-carb haters want us to take their lying words as gospel



Delusion continues. Who mentioned SAD? Low carb is a way of cutting calories. That’s about it (okay, there’s nuance). Didn’t work for me. Cut energy intake with higher carbs. Worked perfectly for me. Anyone arguing doesn’t understand physiology. It’s all “ancestral magic diet”

Standard American Diet = no diabetes => Low-carb diet = diabetes => Higher carb diet = diabetes remission He won't be able to substantiate any of it. All he has is low-carb bashing



Seed oils are so dangerous they lower all cause mortality: “higher LA intake … was associated with a modestly lower risk of mortality from all causes, CVD, and cancer. These data support the potential long-term benefits of PUFA intake”


The LDL denialism continues every day on social media. Thousands of people read this and change their behaviour for the worse. It's very worrying. Your doctor, while a fallible human being, is not trying to harm you.

The anti-cholesterol propaganda is so strong here in the UK that we have 8 million people taking statins every day to suppress a compound that they literally can't live without. Future generations are going to look back in amazement at how we fell for this.
