Our staff have been hard at work this week filling nearly 600 orders of Minnesota native trees! Pickup is THIS FRIDAY, April 29th from 8:00am - 7:00pm at the Scott County fairgrounds. Extra trees for sale, nitrate testing, and conservation information will also be available!

Just one tablespoon of salt permanently pollutes five gallons of water, so make every grain count! Remember to scatter and use salt only where it’s critical. When you apply salt to pavement, aim for three inches of space between salt grains for fastest melting. @AdoptaDrainMN

Good growth on these cover crops planted Labor Day weekend!
Another year of successful aerial seeding cover crops is complete! This year a mixture of rye, rapeseed and turnip was applied across 13 fields in Scott County. These seeds will provide cover throughout the winter and provide extra nutrients to crops planted next spring
Aerial seeding for cover crops is now complete for 2021! Yesterday we partnered with Midwest Ag Air to seed 350 acres across the county. These seeds will provide cover, soil stability, and nutrients to the fields they were applied on--giving fields an advantage for next year

Our crew was hard at work last week spraying weeds at a recent wetland restoration done in the Helena Township in 2019. By keeping weeds down, the BEAUTIFUL native prairie can keep blooming for many years to come!
#Macroinvertebrates are great indicators of long-term health of #wetlands and other waterbodies. Last week, we collected macroinvertebrate samples from 5 wetlands in the District. The creatures are being preserved and will be identified to determine a wetland health score!
