This week a young woman took to the airwaves. Her name is Riley Gaines. What she said put me in mind of the Nazis who invaded Charlottesville, and corrosive rage that demolishes even those who channel it, among other things. Read on: armoxon.substack.com/p/channels-of-…

Arizona's ESA voucher program has become a cautionary tale for the entire country.
Vouchers don’t help poor kids — they just help rich parents who already send their kids to private school. I asked if Greg Abbott’s voucher scam would give $80,000 to wealthy CEOs. The answer was YES. #txlege
It's beyond outrageous that a mother would use taxpayer money to buy her kid a $500 Lego set. And even more outrageous? Our leaders don't seem to have a problem with that. azcentral.com/story/opinion/… via @azcentral
By now, many people know about the ties between Moms for Liberty & the Proud Boys. Fewer know about the ties between Moms for Liberty and dominionists. You cannot understand what is happening to our country without understanding dominionist involvement. 1/ buckscountybeacon.com/2023/11/moms-f…
Is anyone else tired of this era in which we ALL KNOW THAT NONE OF THIS IS NORMAL, but we're too polite to say anything about it? The Christian nationalists are certainly saying the quiet part out loud... so should we. open.substack.com/pub/secularaz/…

The Louisiana Republican has deep ties to evangelical leaders, including pastors who hold anti-democratic views and helped fuel the Jan. 6 Capitol riot as a battle for God to save America.
Sharing this not because anyone should be subjected to the banal apologia (always) served up by Douthat, but for the comments (which are a lot of fun). nytimes.com/2023/11/15/opi…

Opinion | Where Does Religion Come From? (Gift Article)
How do you get from the desire for meaning or the fear of death to the specific content of religious belief?
“School choice” rhetoric was first used after Brown v. Board of Education by those who wanted to maintain segregated schools. Freedom of choice meant segregation. “We can kill” school desegregation explained a MS county GOP chairman by “growing a freedom of choice system.”
School Choice is widely popular in Wisconsin and @WILawLiberty is ready to defend it in court.
We know about 70,000 kids are using ESAs under Arizona’s new universal voucher program. But we don’t know much about them. A committee is supposed to get to the bottom of all the data we DON'T have about ESAs. They’re meeting today for the second and likely final time. 🔗 Bio.
