Mainly Islam with a little bit of side quests | curious about the 'philosophy of religion' | some talk about books 📚
Thread of all my threads | mostly on topics related to islam 🧵

“Jesus’s death was a ransom to Satan” …
🧵To Da’wa or Not to Da’wa? The first level of Da’wa is called Tableegh, which is to preach those things known in the religion by necessity such as the Oneness of Allah & the truth of His messenger and the falsity of polytheism.
Qurʾānic Studies in the West has evolved into a remarkably diverse yet fragmented field. Rather than a coherent discipline, it often appears as a constellation of competing frameworks surrounding the same text.
"If the knowledge of A’ishah were gathered and compared to the knowledge of all other women, the knowledge of A’ishah would be superior." Imam al-Zuhri رحمه الله

When was the Qur'an canonized? Was it during Abdul al-Malik or Uthman? A Thread 🧵 | #quran #islam (Part 1)

There is one Shi'i hadith that I love... I'm not kidding. As per Shia standards, it is considered authentic too. The Imam praises 12,000 Sahabis, saying that there is not an innovator amongst them. They cry day & night, saying: "(Lord) take our souls before we eat yeast bread!"

Aliens listen to an imam instructing them on Islamic theology

Al-Rabīʿ b. Sulaymān relates that al-Shāfiʿī said: “When I entered Baghdād, I stayed with Bishr al-Marīsī (who was a Muʿtazilī). He gave me a room in his house. His mother asked me, ‘Why have you come to him?’ I replied, ‘To learn knowledge from him’ She said, ‘He is a heretic’”

A Christian and a Muslim playing chess in 13th-century al-Andalus.

I’ve compiled a non-conclusive list of Shāfiʿī scholars along with their creedal affiliations. 📚 The focus is mainly on the Shāfiʿiyyah from the era after the students of al-Shāfiʿī and those who followed them. Note: Some of these attributions may be contested.

Another source is the Christian John bar Penkaye writing in around ~67-68AH

According to contemporary Christian sources Abu Bakr RA was a follower of the Sunnah of the Prophet.

This letter from ʿUmar ibn ʿAbd al ʿAzīz (680-720 ce), the leader of the then Muslim world's early view on the Bible's reliability & credibility is quite damning.

A quick thread on the failed predictions of Christians about Islam 🧵 1. John of Damascus (Byzantine theologian, d. ~749) Called Islam a "heresy of the Ishmaelites" destined to fade. (De Haeresibus, ch. 100; Sahas, 1972). Outcome: Islam outlasted Byzantium.
The Islamic religion, it's tenents and values will die in about 300 years time, the signs have already began.
One of the most wonderful things about learning a language is being able to express new things

So I recently read @Farid_0v's interesting book titled Why the Companions Converted to Islam, and set about to write a review. It's a great, novel book in this genre, and I highly recommend people to buy a copy. Also listen to his discussion with brother @HATzortzis Hamza…
