Everyone was so excited to check out new books this week!
"Can we sit by the windows?" Rain or shine, we love our flexible seating options!
Looking forward to another day of exploring our library for new books tomorrow! Students have been so excited to find awesome books to read. We have a cart full of brand new books! I also had help from my first helper of the year who made a wonderful book display to showcase!
3rd grade has been focusing on another one of our Highlander competencies, collaboration! Students had to work together to decide how to use limited resources to make the tallest paper chain. They know I was on the lookout for inclusive leaders demonstrating teamwork!
Communication is one of our key Journey of a Highlander skills! 5th grade had to put their communication skills to the test by describing how to draw different animals to partners who cannot see what they look like. There was a lot of giggling and a ton of engaged conversations!
Days like these are the reason I love my job so much. 4th graders had to build LEGO ziplines with limited materials. The problem solving and creativity was impressive and the engagement and smiles/laughter make every day worth it!
Our school-wide #PBIS program is in full swing! I've had some high five students already earning cool prizes like squishys, gemstones, and sharks teeth!
Beautiful night for the @BWEF_Cares mini golf outing at Cool Springs! Stop by the Fab Lab to make a cool Scottie Keychain and a custom pencil case!
We finished one for Encore rotation! First week would not be complete without some awesome @LEGO_Education builds!! The collaboration among students was so exciting to see!
Our @booknook vending machine is open for business! Some lucky students were so excited to receive a free book today. We cannot wait to give out more tokens for positive behavior!
Fifth grade food trucks are turning out spectacular! Lots of great discussions surrounding how to use 3D printers, and even better student led questions and discussions about what they don't know and wonder!
So excited to add 200 new books to our library after the @ScholasticEdu book fair! Such a successful week with so much #bookjoy
