With 50 years lived experience as a Blak Sovereign Woman, Grandmother, mother etc with my community. What an insult Greens&Labor stitched a deal to exclude me from Voice enquiry. Hang your head in shame and do not talk about transparency.
All these benefits to being Aboriginal: 15yrs less life expectancy. 70% of trauma accounted for by racism 19xs more likely to be sentenced to prison Twice as likely to die by suicide-6xs as likely for kids 2.8 times more likely to die from preventable death Yeah;those benefits
All @SantosLtd wants for Xmas is to destroy Aboriginal land, Gamilaraay people say #GamilMeansNo we don't want your 850 gas wells all we want for Xmas is #YanaaySantos @ruby_wharton @TameekaTighe @JM_Field5

Feel sorry for those who can't grasp the concept that our soveriegnty is not a feel good spiritual notion but tangible in every sense. Sad.
Stolen land Stolen lives Stolen children Stolen cultures Stolen wages Stolen wealth Don't forget whose watch this has all happened on and who were the major beneficiaries of displacing Indigenous peoples across the "commonwealth" #dingdong #QueenElizabeth
Nailed me.
The ABC was a clear player in the passing of the NT intervention - using the wounds of black women and children in the same way they do today. At the time the only 'solutions' offered where more policing. The only thing the intervention led to was higher black jailing #s
Stop rolling out policy wonks and academics and pass the mics to frontline communities and survivors.
My heart goes out to the family of Veronica Nelson today - a 37-year-old who had been refused bail and died in custody. So many Aboriginal women are locked up on remand; they are not 'criminals'. Please watch the inquest proceedings and support her family
seems like some truth telling to be had about the Uluru Statement process
Uncle Ned Hargreaves spoke in the language of war yesterday because this is what it is - a war against Blackfellas. A military trained “cop” killing a young Aboriginal man and the justice system says that’s justified?!
You know I’m just thinking of Zac Grieves today — an Aboriginal man who was given a mandatory life sentence in the Territory despite not even been present for the crime. This is why Blackfellas protest. For Blackfellas it is guilty until proved innocent.
Fuck this colony…
And it’s here’ #TheSundayPaper is an independent pub that centres the voices of Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander & Palestinian people & their allies working to resist settler-colonial occupation.
😳🤔🥴🤭
The fact that people continue to frame our sovereignty as individual and not collective reflects a lack of understanding of how our soveriegnty works. The nation/group hold the sovereignty not the individual.
