An afternoon well spent. I decided to adorn our Indian Cart with some summery planters. I’ve topped the pots with our crushed shells, which will help retain moisture during the Summer months, they look prettier than soil and will help to deter slugs too.

Planting up a succulent terrarium. I use a free draining soil mix consisting of compost, grit & perlite. I top dress with crushed shells to anchor the plants. I put the tallest plant at the back of the terrarium first. I always plant in odd numbers - I think it works well.
Topped the emerging hostas with more of the crushed whelk shells I was kindly gifted by @ShellEarth to help the battle against slugs & snails, though might have trouble guarding against this one !
