Finbar Cafferkey who died resisting the Russian invasion of Ukraine Apr19 was a friend & comrade who for the two decades I knew him consistently put himself in harms way to oppose injustice. Whether that was fighting Shell or ISIS or going to Kos to help refugees come ashore/1
Grim and sad news, condolences to family, friends and the community in Achill. Finbar was as kind and generous as any man I've ever met. Principled and intelligent, intuitive and brave. Chose his words wisely and had a class song voice in a session. Rest In Power compañero.
This is horrendous news. I got to know Finbar in the Shell2Sea campaign in Rossport. He was warm hearted, quietly courageous and very smart. As is said here, he "was a man of principle." My solidarity and sympathy to Finbar's family and friends. irishtimes.com/ireland/2023/0…
