So that’s that! Thirty years Police plus six years military serving Queen, King and country. My thanks to @ChiefGlosPolice for the wonderful send-off today. Mrs S has now reclaimed me with a massive to-do list! #timetohanguptheboots

This guy is talking sense.

What next for UK property?

All the great and good watching a motor race where the cars can’t overtake. I just don’t get it… #F1 #MonacoGP

Seeing all those empty stands whilst watching the Quinns game on tv I do wonder why my season ticket wouldn’t get me into the ground this evening. Wouldn’t bums on seats be better @BathRugby? The boys are needing our support…

I'm sorry, why isn't Martin Lewis in politics again? What an ending to a speech!

Mr Angry from Purley will be seething today..! #RIPSteveWright 🙏❤️

Goodness Twitter is a toxic place today! Vitriol being spouted by those who (like myself) wouldn’t have the first idea how to referee an international game and wouldn’t survive 30 seconds in contact with those guys. Just respect the talent and enjoy the spectacle people!

Today’s the day! @VOC2016 Game on!

Increasingly feeling goal line kick out for being held up over the try line disproportionately aids the defending team. Time to return to 5 yard scrum?

The final point here is interesting.

This makes huge sense. Policing is on the receiving end of a range of inspectorates making whole series of best-practice recommendations - none of which are costed. The net funding requirement is way beyond the means of forces leading to a stream of negative inspection reports.

Quite a punchy first recommendation to appear in the report.

Completely agree. In fact I have a rather romantic notion that when a national team plays it should always be available on free to view TV. Because I don’t believe any corporation should own the rights to watch our national rugby/football/cricket etc. teams.

Hearing reports today that BBC might be losing the 6 Nations Rugby Competition 🏉 I got to be honest it pulled on the heartstrings that one. If they do, then that competition will lose its soul aswell 😪

After all the aggro and vitriol the day before it was good to see traditional British values back on display in central London yesterday. First time I’ve participated in the ceremony. A large reassuringly professional police presence kept us safe. My thanks to all involved.
