One unintended consequence of this explosive pager operation: we will now get to witness congressmen asking Chinese tech executives whether they can make our phones explode via app. And when told no, it doesn’t work that way, they will repeat it as a risk anyways.

Had to go to the DMV today, and I was in and out in under 30 minutes. At a walk-in only location, no less. I am shocked and impressed. If you wanted to improve public perception of government, making interactions with the public less painful would do a lot.

Probably a generalizable lesson: as long as the end user has a good experience, the back end can be sort of a mess. I don’t mind paying taxes, as long as things are nice and functional. But when things don’t work - and especially if you’re paying a lot - then there’s a problem.

The next time my wife laments not yet being a mother, I will be tempted to respond, “You shouldn’t feel bad about us not having a kid. As a childless cat lady, you are very on trend.” This may not be a wise idea. But, hey, if it’s good enough for TSwift…

Strange Kamala went after Trump on some of his more iconic issues - like she tried to paint him as soft on China early on in the debate. Probably not a ton of downside for her… but weird. Like I don’t think it sticks?

Yes, the NYT questioning the US Constitution is not great. But we have overlooked a far more alarming headline. Air conditioning is what separates us from those barbaric Europeans! It’s why we can be productive in the summer. If you hate AC, you hate America.

Not sure I’d trust Temu for this particular application. Like it’s kind of important that your safety bars don’t break. But, hey, first Temu ad I’ve gotten in a while!

Some people downplay the value of business / accounting degrees. "They are just vocational degrees, they don't teach you how to think." etc. But hearing educated people parrot the "grocery store price gouging" line... maybe students could do with more accounting literacy.

Title of this Bloomberg article got me thinking - A few stocks offer shareholders perks. Like I remember Crimson Wine Group gave shareholders a discount on their wine. Has an airline tried this with status? People love status, and will do some uneconomic things for it.

Using Delta as an example - I don't know, maybe give 1 MQD per share, assuming the shares have been held for at least a year? Like if you are willing to tie up $1m+ in Delta stock, you get Diamond status. Seems fair? I bet some people would do it. Not me. But somebody.
