Pls check out our work at #BMVC20 - LaDDer, a method that allows the accurate modelling of the data distribution in a low-dim latent space. LaDDer gives the most faithful modelling of the true data distribution and reduce the risk of generating non-realistic samples. (1/3)

Motion blur typically breaks SLAM/SfM algorithms - but what if blur was actually the key to super-robust motion estimation? In our new work, Image as an IMU, @ronnieclark__ and I demonstrate exactly how a single motion-blurred image can be used to our advantage. 🧵1/9

I decided to keep a list of things we missed because of visa: - me in 2023: ICCV in Paris, M2LSS in Greece, Workshop on Anticipating Human Behavior in Bonn - Görkay in 2023: NeurIPS in New Orleans - Sadra in 2024: ICVSS in Sicily - Merve in 2024: Vision and Sports Summer School…

A huge shout out to Elena and her team at @saltnbold for helping us with our pitch deck! 3 days, 3 equally good designs. Mind-blowing 🚀🚀 Recommend to anyone who needs a good, efficient designer 💯💯 #uxdesign #greatdesign

It's always a huge pleasure to get such an amazing feedback for my work. But even cooler thing here is to work with incredibly talented founders such as @ShuyuLin_n

I have to admit I was fully shocked and impressed! This is how parcels are delivered to doorstep in China!! #robot #contactlessDelivery #lazinessIsKing #躺平

This is amazing - I'm so proud of @ronnieclark__ and Martin! An incredible story of having faith in your work and making it through the competitive publication process. Although I just can't stop thinking: is the 2 yrs that goes through the review & revision really necessary?

After a long review+revision period (~2 years), our paper on Orientation Keypoints will appear in IEEE TPAMI! We introduce "virtual" markers placed around bones to accurately estimate body pose. (1/6) Project page: r0nn13.github.io/okps-project/

“The ability to read” is very important! I wish I can read x10 faster and remember x10 more.

What do you think it's a more important skill for you as a ML practitioner / researcher? Feel free to reply to suggest other ideas. 😊😊

Wow, this video shows a living "robot" (made of African clawed frog stem cells) can reproduce. The parent is the browner, potato looking blob. The new-born is the round, brighter blob. Video is taken from edition.cnn.com/2021/11/29/ame…

Sign up to join discussions on some very interesting topics! To name a couple: - “I wish I knew … at the start of my research career” - “Is deep learning the master algorithm?” This event is hosted as part of the social program at #NeurIPS2021 😎😎

Do you ever realise if two events - A and B - are disjoint and both have positive probabilities, then these two events cannot be independent? This comes from the definition of independence. P(A, B) = 0 ≠ P(A)P(B) > 0. Really neat! #Statistics #CoolMaths

Thank you @y0b1byte for such an honest sharing of your experience! PhD is really a tough experience. The first advice I give to friends who want to apply for PhDs is: Are you really sure PhD is what you want? Just think twice. Still yes? Then think again…

This is a thread about my mental health and PhD experience so far and about how I crawled out of a very deep pit of mental suffering. This is just my experience and not medical advice, but I hope it can help you or simply increase awareness. 1/n

What is your top searches when you type ‘how to’ on Google? Is ‘how to delete Instagram?’ a strategy again Facebook, or a real popular trend? Either way, Facebook probably should be worried 😂😂 #GoogleSearch #CorporateStrategy
