FootfallCam has now clarified all miscommunications and misunderstandings with @OverSoftNL and company SignIPS, over the recent events. Consequently, we have withdrawn the police filing against them. They are all in the clear.
I'd like to see them remove their bogus claims from the website as well, but one step at a time I guess.
(Btw: the devices I've worked with in-field did have their original (setup) passwords set at the time of my first thread)
From what I hear, they've pushed an update that fixed several issues already, so that's very good. Perhaps disable WiFi until you've force-changed the password would also be a good idea. Mitigate now, fix later. 3/3
They've picked up the points I've mentioned and working on actively improving the cams. Maybe, perhaps forcing a user to change the password and not require them using your servers would be a good start. (And fixing all the other points, ofcourse) 2/n
FootfallCam’s Youtube account has just been hacked. All videos have been removed. Please guys, give them a chance to solve their problems. It was not my intention to burn them down.
