Pre-compliance work for EMC on Rutherfordium version 4.0. Looking good for the first of two machine learning ARM core platforms. New concepts are coming. Pre-compliance is a key USP for developers of hardware.

Interesting history from 1918. Sound mirrors for listening for approaching enemy aircraft as an early warning device. Dotted along the English coastline. William Tucker (inventor) filed serveral patents circa 1919.

It's the end of 2018. This is what have done this year: Rutherfordium, a professional grade ARM core development platform. Tritium, 868MHz communications in R&D. ProjectX, machine learning (can't say anymore just yet). ESB, enhanced serial bus, new board-level communications.

We are this Thursday at @cambwireless 'Feeding AI' event. The afternoon will be about machine learning algorithms.

One of our technologies is SCAr (Serial Communications Archtecture). This is a SPI-I2C hydrid that allows interrupts and multiple device selects without a huge parallel databus across your PCB. We've also added a multi-master I2C line for machine learning multiple CPUs.

Well done to our CEO, Stephen Clemmet. Now a RYA catamaran instructor. Already a dinghy and windsurf instructor.

The third test we ran on Rutherfordium at EMC last Friday was conducted immunity. Rutherfordium ran faultlessly. It's all looking good for the Silogic range of development platforms. EMC pre-compliance data is an integral part of our business model.

We found a problem with the ST Microelectronics M0 silicon @ST_World at our last EMC test site visit. The I2C consistently hangs when in master mode during radio immunity testing. We fixed it with a pi-filter design. Re-test it last Friday and now it's perfect.

New EMC testing on our Rutherfordium board last Friday. Board in EMC mode to maximise RF noise. Excellent in horizontal and vertical planes. Emissions are near ambient from the board

Testing our products for EMC pre-compliance radiated disturbance. Huge clearance for our Rutherfordium board.

Updating capability is a foundation flag of all systems today. How will that be managed in limited data streaming in the ISM spectrum where data is chirped and the permitted data rate is low?

If you're after a .AI extension, head for the Caribbean island of Anguilla. That's the domain extension for this British territory island. .AI is becoming popular for businesses in the machine learning (AI) sector. @AnguillaGov

Here's our working proof-of-concept system for ISM spread spectrum radio communications.

We have heard and can believe that by the year 2025, there will be 500 IoT connectable devices per household. A quick count around my home, there are 50-ish electrical devices plus a 1960's valve radio.

Once a design is forcast to hit 10k+ in volume, ASICs designs become a viable consideration. It also locks IP, provides a differential to competitors, reduces PCB footprints, low BoM cost and many other good things.

We have heard from ARM that machine learning is perfectly possible with ARM core M0 or M3.
