Trump's second term will follow the same playbook as every populist authoritarian in history. Scapegoat enemies, consolidate power, blame failures on "deep state sabotage," declare victories where none exist. History doesn't repeat but it sure as hell rhymes.
It's almost like when people get education, healthcare, etc they stop needing invisible sky daddies to explain why life sucks. Turns out prosperity is the best antidote to magical thinking. Who could have predicted this? Oh right, anyone who's studied secularization theory.
