This is gonna make comic purists mad, but although I’ll admit the NTT comics are classics, the 2003 show has pretty much achieved Total Cultural Victory in several ways, despite the adaptation taking many liberties either creatively or from network restrictions.

Having a comic that you hate or dislike is rite of passage for comic fans. For Spider-Man fans it's the tutorial with One More Day.
