Fandom has plenty to reflect and examine, but don't be disingenuous about ao3's creation. It was built to protect fanworks from mass deletion, for and by fans to store those works. Fandom is predominantly afab and there is heaps of misogyny around what afab create and enjoy.

the ao3 archive was not built to protect media representation for women, or anyone for that matter. it was built specifically to host wincest omegaverse without having it immediately taken down, and the creators were nice enough to let all the other fandom sickos join in.
