Today, our union, which represents orderlies, started a labor dispute with the private clinic over their very low wages, 169 GEL per month. For reference, the subsistence minimum in Georgia is 256 GEL and the basic pension is just under 300 GEL. They earn less than that.

Tomorrow at 11 a.m. at Didube Station, the metro workers' union "Ertoba 2013" and the "New Confederation of Independent Unions" will hold a news conference to declare a labor dispute, demanding salary hikes owing to the rising cost of living. @kakhakala
Also important to note the critical involvement of our member @SolNetGeorgia, who took ownership of this issue and has pushed for years. Without their involvement, this wage increase would not have happened. A big congratulations to them and the nurses in their union.
