You can’t afford a coal mine. You can’t afford a gas turbine. You can’t afford an oil rig. Only fossil fuel states and billionaires can. But you can afford a solar power station on your roof. Now, ask yourself why you encounter so much anti-renewable energy propaganda.

This isn’t China. This is Long Beach, California. Over 100 transport containers move autonomously between quayside cranes, storage yards, and rail transfer points. The vehicles can achieve a maximum speed of 13 mph, and can transport containers that are up to 70 tonnes.

The California monopoly utilities are lying about rooftop solar. For years, the monopoly utilities have falsely and outrageously blamed rooftop solar users for rising rates to distract from the real reason rates are so high: increased utility spending. In fact, 92% of the…

Electricity prices are exploding, outpacing much of the rest of the economy. Inflation plays a role, but it’s far from the whole story. AI, EVs, natural gas, and a maxed-out grid are pushing costs higher than ever. (a thread)

Just made a visualization for myself about the unprecedented growth in solar that I thought I might share. From 1880 to 1950 all electricity came from fossil+hydro. Then nuclear briefly grew with market share increasing with up to 1% per year in 1985. Now solar takes over.

The anti-solar mind virus has infected the GOP. There are still plenty of principled conservatives, but they’re being drowned out by ideologues and cronies. Look at this chart and tell me again how solar isn’t “real energy.”
