Social media is addicting, overwhelming, and exhausting. I pray that my wife and I can help our kids to navigate it better than I tend to do, as someone born in the dividing line of Gen-X and Millennial.
My house in the middle of nowhere Appalachia was able to get hooked up to a 1 Gbps fiberoptic internet connection today. Crazy. I remember dreaming of someday being able to get a 56 Kbps dial-up connection. I never got past 26.4, btw. Beam me up, Scotty.
I'm in my mid 40's. Most days I try not to dwell on the fact that, most likely, I've already lived over half of my life. My dad only made it to his mid 60's, which is an even more sobering thought. Psalm 39:4-5 hits closer to home as each day passes.

I decided not to use Chromebooks during the first few days of school. Instructed my students to keep it in their backpacks. Only pencil and paper. How did it turn out? ⬇️
I love the Daily Office — primarily Morning Prayer, but I’ve really fallen off the wagon with it as of late Long summer days keep the kids up late, which keeps my wife and I up later, and then it makes early mornings tough. Excuses, excuses… I know.
As with many that have had a similar trajectory as us, infant baptism is still a hurdle. I’ve studied the scriptures, read the books, listened to the lectures, etc, but I still can’t fully co-sign onto the idea. I appreciate much about it, but I’m just not there (yet?).
My wife and I made a choice several years ago to make the leap from the church tradition of our youth, and start attending a conservative, liturgical church, and we've been there ever since. We're both active in our parish, but neither can say we're fully Anglican in theology.
I felt the urge today to create an anonymous account so that I could more freely share thoughts online, as I'm somewhat private in general. I'm a Christian male, married w/ kids, living in Appalachia, attending an ACNA Anglican church. That's about enough info, I think.
