Mocha cheeks blending with a red hue as he gave way to bashful nods in appreciation. Smiles hadn’t dared leave his features for a moment.

“You look… amazing.” She murmurs, blushing as her gaze flickers to her feet. “I’m glad you came.”

“Ah, American holiday.” Roger quipped. “Good time then?” Gus applied the cool towel behind her neck gently.

“Late thanksgiving festivities, you know?” She smiles weakly, shrugging her shoulders. “Just the headache.”

Was there anything she wanted or needed from the little shops they passed, he wondered. He noticed her intrigue in a couple of items here or there, but never seemed too caved into them.

“We’ll just wander then, shall we?” She smiles, adjusting her shawl a bit.

You. Just the thought alone caused his cheeks to blister the pinch of pink. Suddenly, he shook his head.

She hums softly, glancing toward him with a shy smile. “Anything you need in particular?”

“Ooh, partied too much last night, did you?” Roger teased, keeping his voice lower by an octave. “Is it just a headache or do you feel like you’re going to throw up?”

She’s about to thank him when Roger burst in, and she instantly went wincing at the sound. Damn this pain. “Oh… it’s… too much mulled wine last night. I’m alright,”

“Bunty.” He greeted in return. His voice not lifting further than a rabbit’s squeaks. Anxiety crippled him somehow. What made this so different compared to their previous get togethers?

She fixed her hair for the last time, moving to open the door as her heart flutters. “Gus..”

The next evening came far too quickly for the likes of Gus. He was fine until he made it to the front door of Bunty’s. Oh. There goes his heart…

She was so nervous, she spent the entire rest of the time preparing. Everything had to be perfect or it would possibly ruin everything.

Dinner it was and dinner it shall be. In some weird happenstance, Gus felt himself—nervous— about the entire fact this dinner would be a change in their relationship. A huge change he didn’t know if he was quite ready for.

Her heart flutters as she reads the letter, biting down on her lip. She couldn’t possibly have expected all of this to go as well as it did.

She did not look well at all. Gus gave a concerned frown, leaning a hand over her shoulder in a gentle manner.

She smiles as she carefully takes a seat, biting her lip as she rubs her temples. “Thank you..”
