What’s your hope for video games and the video game industry in 2026?
Something interesting about those who push for gen ai imagery in concept art is that they think of objects (clothes, patterns, garments, etc) as devoid of history, of sociocultural context: to them the illustration is an idealised commodity no different than toilet paper
So from what im gathering its some texture + misc art. "Thats just small things" someone will argue, but thats exactly how commercial genAI started - from random small images to being forcefully inserted into every service ever. Cutting corners is step 1.
Can someone verify what they used AI for? (For example, Larian is doing concept art, Embark is doing voices) Id like to hate on this efficiently, correctly and educatedly
‘The concept phase’ is the absolute worst time to be using generative AI. You’re poisoning your creation at the root, you’re immediately limiting your vision. Why on earth would you ever do that???
