Turkeys CAN be over harvested. There is a crossover point b/t harvest rate and annual poult recruitment. Hence, harvest rate AND method of take have to be two of many things we as a turkey hunting community look at.
Strutting is a behavior us hunters link to toms, but it is performed by hens and poults. Research has even noted that poults of both sexes strut. It appears that strutting is something all turkeys do at some point in their life cycle @DrShortSpur @NWTF_official
Annual PSA: Don’t break the law or bend your morals/ethics to kill a turkey. It’s not worth it. By doing so one shows disrespect to the sport and the bird. Win right or don’t win at all.
