Kids are taught reading, writing, and math. Then they’re off with no discussion of how to BRING VALUE. They chase “meaningful work” but end up with debt, dissatisfaction, and disappointment. THE TRUTH: meaning starts with CREATING VALUE and providing for your family & community
If you could teach your kids just one lesson about money, what would it be? That’s the question I’ve been wrestling with and it’s the heart of Monday’s article.
Reading opens minds. Writing gives voice. Financial literacy unlocks freedom. All three should be at the foundation of a child’s education. Yet only two are taught in school. The third, money, belongs at home where lessons are lived, practiced, and passed down.
First it’s the student loans: $1.7 trillion nationwide. Then it’s the credit cards: $6,000 per household. Then it’s a crisis: 40% of Americans can’t cover a $400 emergency. How different would those numbers look if we actually taught kids about money?
