If you can't clearly describe your start up in 60 seconds, you have work to do. You will be doing, a lot!
Any start-up's financial projections past 2 years are just a best guess, only useful to see if and how the business will scale up.
Start up founders: Understand your start up funding needs. Seeking too much or too little, both can cause you major problems.
Don't use what I call the "Chinese Glove" way of projecting sales (if a billion Chinese wear gloves, and...). Shows no effort at research.
2% here, 3% there, will add up fast. Be tight on giving away equity as a start up, you can quickly lose control of your baby that way.
Start up founders: Personally sign all checks and payments the first year. Know where the money is going.
