October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month — a time to honor survivors, remember those we’ve lost and recommit to early detection and access to care for all. Together, we can save lives through awareness, research and support.

Gather your friends, family, & neighbors for an uplifting evening filled with delicious food & great company at the Annual Spaghetti Dinner hosted by the Livonia Rotary Clubs. Every plate served supports the global fight against polio, making your meal meaningful and impactful.

Join the Livonia PD for some seasonal fund. The event will also include activities for families & kids including a bounce house & face painting. Families can also paint pumpkins with an officer & enjoy food, fresh donuts & cider. The event is completely free to the public.

The bronze statue of Tuskegee Airman Lt. Col. Alexander Jefferson will be restored to its proper place after being stolen by vandals last year. Lt. Col. Jefferson served as part of the legendary Red Tails in World War II.

I was honored to offer the opening invocation for today’s House session as we approach an important deadline to keep our state government operating. In my prayer, I asked that we be granted the Lord’s wisdom and discernment to help us navigate the difficult decisions ahead.
To commemorate the recent 95th anniversary of Better Made, the Detroit Caucus honored the business with a tribute and toured its facilities. Established in 1930, Better Made has come to represent both local pride and the achievements of the working class.

Michiganders’ priorities are my priorities: schools, hospitals and public safety. I’m proud of the progress Democrats have made to support kids’ learning, keep families healthy and strengthen our state. I won’t let up until the budget reflects those values.
