Louis himself is great company as well, as far as Adam is concerned. Having the privilege to seek out his new friends is sincerely not something he scoffs at. The library. His favorite room. Adam will peek, and duck in. “Evening, Louis,” he says. “Are you busy in here?”
It’s really more of Louis’ pleasure to invite wonderful company. It has been a long time since he’s had such friend. Currently he’s haunting the library, fireplace crackling and the shuffling and the books and papers evident.
He feels very important in the company of this household. They are so kind to him and understanding and patient, allowing him to take up space in their lives and not feel guilty. The coat is /lovely/. He can’t help but pet it in his lap with a little wobbly smile and quiet purrs
Lestat just wanted their new friend to know he was just that, a friend. And lestat loves his friends very much.

He stops, just to give Adam a look of great annoyance. "I am calming myself down."
“You know I do not intend to allow you to harm yourself.” Complicated as they are, Adam doesn’t want Victor to just thwack himself silly.

but it was terrible, in those first days. my entire body was a wound. the world that blooms and ripens in things had been torn out of me with its roots, with my heart (it seemed).

Louis is very kind to him. Adam swears to never take it for granted. There are plenty of rooms to wander into, which would he be able to find his friend in?
If he would like company, he’s always welcome to come find Louis.

Missing his friends today. This home is not so big as the old castle, but by yourself the halls do seem to grow longer and the ceilings draw higher
