Thousands of DC residents have spoken, marched, and protested. When will the mayor and the Council listen? It's PAST TIME to defund the DC Police and ban the use of stop-and-frisk. NoMoreStopAndFrisk.com #NoMoreStopAndFrisk #DefundMPD #PoliceFreeSchools #BlackLivesMatter

This is the second shooting involving MPD in less than a week. wusa9.com/article/news/c…

Would be great if other councilmembers stopped by @BrianneKNadeau's roundtable to hear testimony from traumatized and disgusted DC residents about MPD cooperation with feds, esp @ChmnMendelson @AnitaBondsDC @CMBrookePinto @kenyanmcduffie @CMCharlesAllen @CMRobertWhiteDC

Finally the DC Council is holding a hearing on the collaboration between DC MPD and ICE and the @MayorBowser is not only refusing to show up but won’t send anyone from the executive to defend her truly abhorrent cooperation with fascists terrorizing DC. Resign already.

This is a reminder that Muriel Bowser is up for election in November 2026. Don't forget how she threw DC residents under the bus to cozy up to Trump.

Appreciate this reporting from @emmauber7 but baffled that it doesn't mention that this also violates DC law, not just MPD policy. The law was significantly weakened by the Council last year but still only permits car chases if "immediately necessary to protect another person"

The US Park Police has started 10 police pursuits for traffic or non-violent crimes in the last three weeks. 6 have ended with crashes. wapo.st/3JZYvBq

Bowser did not directly respond on whether the results will be shared with the federal gov., potentially allowing it to target encampments. “We don’t expect that we’re gonna have homeless encampments, and we are gonna work to make sure people can come into shelter,” she said.

"My constituents are getting assaulted and disappeared off the street and that's cool by me and I'd actually like more of it" -- @MayorBowser

Bowser seems to hint that she'd be OK with the federal surge continuing beyond the initial 30 days. "I think we're going to have officers. We want to enhance our officer presence," she says.

NEWS: MPD is no longer in Washington Circle Park. An estimated 10 tents between 22nd and K down to 26th and L NW were removed by MPD officers and DPW. DMHHS and federal officers were not on site during this. @streetsensedc 🧵

As DC deals with a federal take over of police and increases it’s cooperation with ICE and clearing homeless encampments multiple sources tell @nbcwashington @MayorBowser has left town for Martha’s Vineyard

This is the DC police choosing to collaborate with the feds. Not being forced. Choosing too. Like they have consistently chosen to work with them for decades. Because there is no daylight between them, their tactics, or their violent goals.

To be clear, DC police do this all the time--there are videos from 2018 of people sitting in front of their homes getting questioned and frisked. And it's clear right now that MPD is actively cooperating with the feds and even directing them on where to go.

With a 30 year low in violent crimes, Trump got the feds harassing folks sitting on their porch.
