The mine may create jobs for up to 80 years, BUT the salmon industry HAS and WILL create jobs sustainably. Sustainability is key.
Contamination from the mine is inevitable. Bristol Bay's challenges include earthquakes, severe weather, and complex drainage systems.
During mining, copper could find its way into salmon spawning grounds. Copper has been shown to hinder key components involved in spawning.
Bristol Bay's salmon run is a crucial aspect to the environment, the economy, and the Alaskan native culture. Protect Salmon. Stop Pebble.
