YouTube just started to show abbreviated subscriber counts in the API. Sadly this is something we can't do anything about. Our app will function as you are used to for channels with less than 1000 subscribers.
⚠️ Starting tomorrow, YouTube will abbreviate subscriber counts which means we will no longer be able to show precise counts for channels >1000 subscribers. ⬇️ Read more ⬇️ support.google.com/youtube/thread…
🆘BREAKING: YouTube is starting to roll-out the abbreviated subscriber counts update which prevents us from showing any realtime subscriber count. More on this -> yt.be/help/LF4J

The only way to provide live subcounters is by forcing people to authenticate themselves with their Google accounts so we can use the reporting/analytics api's. But this is far from perfect.
I've got a response from my contact at YouTube which is bad for subscriber counters/analytics apps like @SubcounterApp and @SocialBlade. The YouTube Data API that we use to show public data of channels will indeed no longer include non-abbreviated subcounters.
