I have this feeling that 2026 will be the year of the text-based hero animation for landing pages. As an 80s kid, I'm for it. It reminds me of simpler times, playing games in DOS. Relive that nostalgia with me by checking out this animation generator. kodo7.com
Great news for design teams using Figma and Jira within their workflows. Figma has released a new feature that allows for instant design status updates. Prior to this update, it was such a pain waiting for the status to update in Jira. figma.com/release-notes/…

More than Figma, I am excited about Penpot's MCP server. The way that Penpot have been orchestrating their platform to natively support the Design Token spec will make the transition to AI-assisted design workflows that much more impactful. smashingmagazine.com/2026/01/penpot…
B = f(P, E) Behavior is a function of the person and the environment. I'm really liking this quick design insight by Wodtke. It helps shift the perspective from designing for a thing to designing for a behavior. eleganthack.com/the-formula-th…
I love a good free tool. Url to Any provides a few useful utilities, especially for AI usage. The screenshot tool in particular has been getting a lot of use by me, especially for Heuristic Evaluations. urltoany.com
I've been playing with RemixableFont.ttf for the last 15 minutes and I'm in love. It's a really fun interactive tool that allows you to quickly make and evaluate changes to your font. Give it 5 minutes of your time, even if you aren't a designer. fontbob.com/geomini
A browser supporting those with ADHD is such a cool idea. I find myself creating notes in Obsidian much in the same way Horse Browser (yes, I love the name too) creates "Trails". I wonder how the idea of trails could be applied to other design contexts. browser.horse
In my AI experimentation, I was finding that saving a prompt as a file and running Claude Code against it yielded far better results than direct prompting. RLMs seem to take the idea to the next level by allowing a model to treat the prompt as an object. x.com/a1zhang/status…
Much like the switch in 2025 from language models to reasoning models, we think 2026 will be all about the switch to Recursive Language Models (RLMs). It turns out that models can be far more powerful if you allow them to treat *their own prompts* as an object in an external…
I've really been enjoying Dive Club lately, especially the BTS design process of top brands. This week's episode looks at how Atlassian has been implementing an AI-first design process. Really cool to see the successes and failures of their efforts so far. youtube.com/watch?v=CqMZTg…

As a homelab enthusiast, I use declarative tech such as Ansible and Terraform to tell an automation what I want the end state of my host system to be. Reading their recent AI whitepaper, Penpot may make declarative design a reality in much the same way! penpot.app/blog/penpot-ai…

This day has already defeated me. I spent too much time on a network issue only to find that my cat has been playing with my ethernet cables. Somehow he managed to lightly unplug one enough for it to register but not enough for it to connect at full duplex speed. Only took 4hrs.

If I had to pick the one place that n8n has had the most impact in my life, it would be my email inbox. From simply marking a bill as paid in my finance spreadsheets to AI-assisted newsletter content filtering based on my own interests, n8n keeps my inbox at zero.

I think Design OS is a neat project that shows how AI can be applied in a practical way for product design. It's not the end game yet, and it's tailored more to product engineering than design, but it's always nice to keep projects like this on the radar. youtube.com/watch?v=2vu-6-…
