As you sleep, you twitch, driving experience-dependent activity, forming sensory consequences for the motor system. It appears that twitches contribute to the development of an internal model of movement that provides real-time estimates of the body’s position in space.

#IITGNResearchCapsule 83: Humans can learn to perform new tasks by repeated trials (practice), and they can also learn to adapt to environmental perturbations in movement tasks they have already learnt. For most tasks, humans can do this with no supervision or coaching.
