+Lord, in the monastic vocation you blessed St. Ludger with Peace of Soul and as a bishop you endowed him with zeal for your Word. Invigorate us with your Spirit that we may share the Gospel in all we do, and in the silence of our prayer grant peace to our unsettled hearts. +

Today we celebrate the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord. This is the moment when Jesus was conceived in Mary’s womb by the power of the Holy Spirit. Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word” (Lk 1:38).

+God, our Almighty Father, your plan of salvation came to fruition by the humble obedience of the Blessed Virgin Mary. In her womb You, our God, became man, in order that we might become more like you. Grant that we, who worship your Son, may come to share in His divine nature.+
