Ubuntu: CTRL+SHIFT+C copies, CTRL+SHIFT+V pastes in the Terminal. ESC doesn't work to clear the current command (use CTRL+U).

Remedial Sublime Text 2: If files are not showing up in the Folder List (or Goto Anything), Project->Refresh Folders menu item fixes it.


Every time I update Ubuntu via the Update Manager, it breaks VirtualBox extensions. Reinstall to fix. I don't know why yet, don't care why


Ubuntu: they have the same weird thing as Windows about hiding the menu bar by default. To get your File menu back, tap & hold ALT.


CTRL+ALT+T to open a Terminal in Ubuntu. How many will you need? More than one, or I'm doing something wrong #ImProbablyDoingSomethingWrong


Sublime Text 2 on Ubuntu: I recommend installing it via apt-get because a) it shows up on my Start Menu, b) "subl ." on the terminal works


The "hosts file" lives at /etc/hosts, but remember to sudo edit it. This is not any different from Windows, which throws a UAC prompt @ you.


Tapping the "Windows key" on your keyboard will launch a very Win7-like Start Menu on Ubuntu. Pinning & WINKEY+NUM work similar to Win7 too.


RVM on Ubuntu: this guide beginrescueend.com/rvm/install/ is great & works, but don't forget to edit your .bash_profile! Don't be me. #CantRead #ADD
