This is some great insight into how you can make mechanics more tactile for the player.

Math is scary, and often we stick to what we know because its easy, but the best games examine the mechanical choices they make, so I'm gonna demistify some shit about 2d6 math . Alternate Title: PbtA designers, please stop using +/- x modifiers in your games. Let's get into it.

Loads of new game designers start out by writing a rulebook, making the whole process more difficult! This is one of the things we talk about at our first Introduction to Tabletop Game Design course ("Starting Your Game"). Tickets and details at needycatgames.com/events :)

ok folks, I made a place to talk for all you game designers. I've been sad that G+ was gone, because I know a lot of game designers hung out there. So here we are, a new place to discuss game design, please share widely: discuss.tabletop.design

We exist! check out discuss.tabletop.design to hangout and chat about tabletop game design.
