Umoja is in Zanzibar! We had the pleasure of meeting the representatives of the East African Swahili Commission, Executive Secretary Dr. Caroline Asiimwe and Deputy Executive Secretary Dr. James Jowito, to explore and discuss future partnerships.
Umoja is a groundbreaking educational game designed to explore the histories of resistance to slavery along the Swahili Coast. It merges interactive storytelling with historical research to engage players—particularly students—in learning about cultural heritage in a dynamic way.
