Welcome to our tech tip presentation! We are going to be talking about Twitter in the classroom using... Twitter.
We chose Twitter for three main reasons: 1. Familiarity with Students 2. Creative uses by past teachers 3. Importance of building positive social media strategies
Twitter can be used to support classroom management by creating miniature social network for the class.
Twitter can support student learning as a Presentation Tool as an alternative to things such as PowerPoint.
Assessment Instructions: The objective of this assessment is to show that you know how to sign up for a twitter account using a temporary email service. This assessment will be done individually and in class
1. Go to and click sign up for an account. 2. The twitter account you will make should be relevant to your future field of education. Ex/ History teachers should pick a person from history, literature teachers can pick a character from fiction.
3.When asked to enter an email use a temporary email service like the one shown in the tech tip presentation to make the account. 4.Once the account is set up each student should set an appropriate header and profile picture and make at least one tweet.
Each student will have 10 minutes to complete the assessment. After completing the assessment students will message a link of their created twitter account and some will be shared with the rest of the class.
