I'd argue it's even worse. Americans with CS degrees were not competing against H1B mills for jobs. Re-allocating more H1Bs to big tech companies means less opportunity for high skilled Americans.
F-1, OPT, and STEM OPT students inside the United States can apparently skirt the new $100,000 H-1B fee. If true, the new H-1B rule is just lipstick on a pig.

The @theallinpod just said there’s a shortage of Americans for high skilled tech jobs. Then they spent 10 min comparing H1B to Operation Paperclip, which brought in 1,600 German scientists after WW2. And patted themselves on the back for not being born here.
🚨 CORPORATE ABUSE OF THE H-1B VISA PROGRAM: 1. Fire American workers. 2. Blame it on “AI” or “tech advances.” 3. File thousands of visa petitions. 4. Underpay foreign workers in worse working conditions. This can’t continue.
We are being INVADED and your politicians DON'T CARE. They are OWNED by large corporations, which have ALL been taken over by THE INDIAN FRAUD PIPELINE. Our IMMIGRATION SYSTEM HAS BEEN HIJACKED, and they tried to SHUT US UP with LIES ...to the ENTIRE NATION.
The lack of assimilation and the absolute fraudulent visa scam system in certain populations must be addressed. Since they are problems, they shouldn't be treated as a favored caste of migrant workers.
The government and establishment kept stealing from Americans until there was nothing left and they stop having kids. So did they stop stealing? Fuck no, they started outsourcing, hiring H-1Bs and advocating for mass immigration.
