Data Modernization for OpenVMS, Enabling Real-time Data Access for RMS files connect-community.org/events/event_d…

Finally have sometime for so-so media, but all my brain-power has been used up by work & activism.

The surprise isn't that someone is offering OpenVMS services, but that their ad is on a font website.

Surprised to see an ad on a font website for OpenVMS services. Provider: digitalsynergyinc.com has OpenVms at the top of its offerings.

Imagine not many people read "Respiratory Virus Vax" on a vet bill and think: "No way! There hasn't been a VMS virus since like 1989…oh."

Just logged into a VMS system for the first time in years. Catching up on my VAX Notes reading. Most of you have no idea what that means :-)

Giving thanks for working on OpenVMS.

A critical program on a system was dogging on I/O to a fragmented disk. I doubled its speed w/ a script that did more I/O. How?

Does anyone in the #OpenVMS world contribute to wikipedia? See my prior posts.

Hence, wikipedia gives no mention of #OpenVMS' distributed lock manager, and cluster-wide RMS record level locking.

Wikipedia's page on file/record locks (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File_locking) doesn't mention #OpenVMS locking methods at all.

@djphollen A real or virtual OpenVMS box?

If the "open" in OpenVMS is silent, then is it correct to say, "the data is read asynchronously from 'a' OpenVMS mailbox?
