It took me a long time to realize that many people DON’T know that farmland is a vital resource. All soil is not created equal. Losing good farmland is a bit like losing a forest—you can’t just transplant it elsewhere at random and get the same place back again.
Which is why we say when we lose a farmer, we tend to lose that farmland forever. Development is often the only way out for a farm family in crisis.

I am reading these first-hand accounts of mothers who had their children taken from them, with no word of where they were going or how to contact them, and I'm thinking about someone doing that to me and my kids and I feel a rage so powerful I think I'm gonna pass out.
We were the country that accepted you when you ran from danger toward a better life. That is what we said. Today we are literally ripping sobbing children from their parents, and then losing the kids. This is a nightmare. It’s so horrible it defies words. #WhereAreTheKids
