One day I’m going to write a book called something dumb like K is for Contracts It will be a cathartic lamenting of everything that’s unnecessarily confusing about the practice of law. You’re all welcome to contribute.
whenever someone says “per chatgpt” or “chatgpt says” i look at them like they just consulted a magic 8 ball because please stop playing with me.
You’re on X, I’m on twitter, we are not the same.
I was always taught it’s rude to omit the recipient’s name in an email salutation (ie: “Hello Tessa,” is 👍; just “Hello,” is 👎 if I’m the only recipient), but I receive SO MANY emails like this that I’m starting to wonder how universal of an email etiquette rule this is.
Ok Weekday Wig is very funny
Oh boy it’s “don’t disturb the copyright” wig naming season!
Tried to filter my emails by “unread” and Outlook has my computer whirring as if I were mining crypto
Realizing I need to update the cross-saved version in another folder after it took me like 5 tries to get a typo-free to the client
You know the adage “a watched pot never boils”? Do we have one yet about how you never spot the typos until you convert to pdf? 😒
Pssst trademark/IP friends, make sure you play Strands today!
Mom’s reaction to seeing an insurance company called “Hiscox” 🥹
Reading a firm’s profile on an award site that was ranked number one in “IP: Trademark, Copyright & Trade Secrets” and half the commentary relates to their patent practice…….. 🙄
You know working in law firm marketing has rewired your brain when you watch #WhiteLotus and think to yourself, “a tax attorney should totally write a blog about what would happen if Belinda accepted Greg/Gary’s hush money”
Me watching White Lotus and hearing one of the characters mention “K&E”
Just made a note on a lawyer’s article, “Syntactically vague — does the injunction apply to these parties or not? Please clarify.” and then it was a direct quote from a judge 🫢
Em dash slander!!! I’ve been overusing the em dash since 2016!!!
A shortcut for detecting if something is written with AI is they all use this symbol "—" throughout the writing. It's relatively rare when a human uses it, maybe once or twice, if that. But AI chats love using it. No clue why.
me: let me check the original text of this Final Rule to see what it says the first 10 paragraphs: we are allowed to make this rule
