Having attempted to digest all of the brilliant talks I attended at #LILAC24 I've attempted to summarise my 19 pages of notes into 3 key themes that I spotted across the sessions I attended. Thanks again to the @LILAC_conf team for a brilliant conference linkedin.com/pulse/thoughts…
Home & unpacked after an amazing 3 days at #LILAC24 in Leeds! A huge thank you to the conference team for putting together an incredible event and programme of talks. I feel so enriched by all I heard. I've got pages & pages of notes to decipher but for now it's sleep time!
A little boost for this blog I wrote last week where I put down some of my thoughts on what I want to see from an AI research tool before I would even consider recommending it to my students: linkedin.com/pulse/im-just-… Would be really interested in your thoughts!

I'm just Gen(AI): Is it my destiny to live a life of search fragility?
The awkward Britishness of me feels like I should start this post by apologising for the bandwagon jumping on of the title of this piece but frankly I'm genuinely proud of my middle of the night...
I've been pondering AI again, this time in relation to search tools and what I want from them in order to be comfortable in recommending them to students and colleagues. I'd love to hear your thoughts! linkedin.com/pulse/im-just-…

Staying up to watch the whole of #TheOscars seemed like a good idea last night. This morning as I prepare to deliver a referencing session to 1st year sport students on 4 hours sleep it seems a little foolhardy. Hoping to channel some of Ryan Gosling's Kenergy Wish me luck!
Really positive first meeting of the new @CILIP_ARLG committee earlier. Lots of good ideas and looking forward to helping get us back out there creating learning and networking opportunities for colleagues in academic and research libraries ☺️
🔍 More than 1/3 of #HE students who’ve used #generativeAI don’t know how often it produces hallucinations. For Mike Jones @ThatLibraryMan from @SolentUni, librarians can play a vital role in developing AI literacy. 🤖 Find out more 👇 bit.ly/3I5yw7y

Just booked my spot to attend #LILAC24 - had a wonderful time in Cambridge last year so can't wait to visit Leeds. Heading up the day before so any recommendations for things to do on a Sunday evening in Leeds greatly appreciated😊 Hope to see some of you there!
Bookings for #LILAC24 are now open! To find out more, and to secure your place, please visit: lilacconference.com/lilac-2024/boo… We can’t wait to see you in Leeds! #infolit #digilit
After feeling sorry for myself last Tues, having missed out on an opportunity - this Tues started more brightly when I arrived at my desk to find this little guy, a gift from an academic as thanks for some help with her research. Also pictured, today's awesome Xmas jumper!
Had some disappointing (but completely fair) work-adjacent news this afternoon but can't be down when I'm wearing a Xmas jumper this awesome!
In preparation for the inevitable demise of this app, I've set myself up to join the growing librarian community on the blue alternative. Please give me a follow if you're already over there, username is the same 😊
Ned's book was an essential text for my Library MA dissertation (and is cited numerous times in the subsequent journal article - link in bio if anyone's interested) so I'd love to read a follow up. If you're involved in library marketing, please ensure you fill in his survey!
Library people of X! Can you do me one last favour? I'm seeking input on what people need from a book on #library marketing, if I were to write another... There's a brief form here: forms.gle/GHenpef6RLXEZE… If you can fill it in / RT I'd appreciate it massively. Thank you.
Does anyone have any recommendations of papers/research that discuss the issues/limitations/negative aspects of using #LibGuides as a tool for disseminating #InfoLit instruction and advice? Found plenty of positives but looking an alternative viewpoint Thanks in advance!
