Darkling beetles love apple! Seems like they prefer fresh to dehydrated but it goes to mush pretty quickly.
A real lack of mealworm eggs hatching at the moment. I think it's lack of humidity so have taped up some holes.

These mealworms have been left for 3 months without adding anything other than dehydrated veg.
The mealworms have certainly been enjoying the fresh apple! Dehydrated will be less likely to go mouldy though.
New experiment starting today - feeding mealworms on dehydrated apple.
