But I was a "conspiracy theorist" for suggesting games were/are being fixed for the past 15 years.

Without knowing the details, I'm pretty confident more was behind this than making $12K on a couple of errant pitches. Some sort of external force was likely in play here.
Emmanuel Clase was set to make at the very least $38.1 million dollars in his career He threw it away for $12,000 which is 0.0003% of that.
