We are seeing a lot more lower throwing slots from catchers. 1) It’s mechanically more efficient in that it gets the arm more in line w/the rotation of the shoulders. 2) Catchers are experimenting w/their slots & they are finding that they can create carry from variable slots.

Catching the ball up to the plate. More strikes. Know your hitters swing arc to avoid interference.

Scouts and recruiters have to identify traits that can’t be developed. Coaches have to identify traits that can be developed. If either is wrong they both fail.

Movement before action steal by Ernie Clement. Totally sold out on Glasnow being focused making the pitch. It’s both a situational & body language read.

What it means to be squared up while staying behind contact. Young hitters…. Let this image sink into your brain. And do your best to create it every day in the cages… with a middle approach (gap to gap)… attained by attacking the inside of the ball.

Unbelievably athletic save by Alejandro Kirk.

Kirk putting on a blocking clinic. Soft block with ++ upper body angle. Higher profile in response to a breaking ball further in front of the plate.

1st pitch of the game Kirk converts a 28% strike into a strike. Really quiet move with + hold timing.

Is there a chance that during PFP we can get our pitchers some reps catching pop ups?
