The Ice Breakers is a student run organization to raise awareness of the violations of basic civil rights of immigrants in the Fresno county.
We are having a Abolish ICE rally at the Fresno city hall on August 9th at 10:00 am.
Immigrants in the Central Valley are not showing up to work because of the fear of deportation. These people have families to provide for, however these ICE removal tactics have prevented people from living their daily lives and supporting their families financially.
Facts: If ICE is at your door step you DO NOT need to open the door unless they have a court warrant signed by a judge.
Know your rights. Stand your ground. The ice breakers organization will be passing out flyers to refer to if approached by ICE.
The notion of dismantling ICE is nowhere near as radical as the destructive 2003 decision to establish ICE - an extrajudicial enforcement agency that controls a black-box network of for-profit detention centers accountable to no one, even when people die - in the first place.

The Central Valley was not included on the list of ICE raids. Yet ICE still conducted these raids to target specific racial groups.
ICE has been known to identify themselves as local police when conducting arrests at homes, this is creating a public safety issue. Immigrants are afraid to contact police if needed because of the fear of deportation.
ICE has violated the rights of immigrants throughout the Central Valley, it’s our job to raise awareness of this issue.
