Tailwind is messy
TailwindCSS or plain CSS? Let’s hear your honest opinion. No gatekeeping.
Well designed and written solutions will prevail
Software engineering is a joke now — pure fraud. Vibe coding, serverless architectures, and platforms like Vercel that spin everything up for you have gutted the craft. We’ve lost the art of programming, trading it for bloated frameworks and copy-paste solutions. It’s absurdly…
Docker
I didn't think installing mongodb locally would be such a pain. I spent hours trying to get it to work and all I can do is run it manually. How did you install and use mongodb on your first try
Why would you
This is probably true when starting out a new products and backend work means just creating CRUD APIs, making calls to external services, etc. But in real production systems it is often complex operations of migrating and dealing with existing data. It's about figuring out how…
Do people still use sql?
Tailwind makes your code unreadable
Unpopular opinion Tailwind CSS makes you better at CSS!
Done both to at a professional level. Hardest bit of front end is making it look pretty which most companies have predefined css. Highly performant back end data pipelines are so much more complex
im convinced that backend is MUCH easier than frontend. Backend is just creating and managing rows in the DB under the hood but frontend is CSS, reusable UI components, browser compatibility, dynamic artifacts, asynchronous prerendering, and so much more
The best skill a software engineer can have is the ability to learn things quickly.
Writing clean, bug free and efficient code is a skill. Using AI and calling yourself a coder is not
Back end engineers need understanding of this but not so much detail
😂 Level 3
