Coming full circle. 119 years ago—in 1905—Massachusetts already had a 30 cfm/person ventilation mandate for schoolhouses: "the apparatus will supply at least thirty cubic feet of air per minute for each scholar accommodated in the rooms" google.com/books/edition/…

BIG NEWS. California Department of Public Health adopted 30 cfm/p as the ventilation target for classrooms, citing our Lancet report 🙌 cdph.ca.gov/Programs/CID/D… Thread on 30 cfm/p here (with a cool update...)👇

Build buildings? Operate buildings? Invest in buildings? Work in buildings? Don’t sleep on this. Consensus that: 1) Current ventilation rates are too low 2) 30 cfm/p is a good target

Possible legislation to improve Indoor Air Quality in the US: great news! Especially that it is bipartisan, so that it has a chance to pass. But just the fact that it has been introduced is great news. Even a few months ago people were discussing this as nearly impossible

Today, I introduced the bipartisan Indoor Air Quality & Healthy Schools Act that would implement needed, science-based measures to protect the public from poor indoor air quality. Thankful to @RepBrianFitz for partnering in this effort. Read more below: tonko.house.gov/news/documents…

Given data showing Novavax is superior to the mRNA platform for both longevity (see thread quoted below please) & reactogenicity (less side effects), why hasn’t the FDA moved to issue a Novavax EUA for kids < 12 years old? Children are not faring well from serial SARS2 exposure.

Just released: Pretty remarkable 1-year durability data for Novavax 2-dose primary series. Though there is some expected waning, there was >65% efficacy at 1y (mRNA options typically wane to this level by ~4-5 months). Also fewer waning differences by age. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

The risk of #H5N1 to the general public is currently low. But, what road signs will indicate that risk to humans increases? @cmyeaton + team just published a beautiful risk assessment report. We are currently between scenario 2 and 3 (really 2+ because of the cats).
