Summer may be over, but the sun is still strong and your skin still needs protection. Remember to avoid sunlight in the middle of the day and always wear your sunscreen.
It’s a myth that skin cancer only affects the elderly. High sun exposure in the first 10 years of life more than doubles your risk of developing melanoma, so it’s important to start healthy sun habits with your family early on.

Sunscreens come in many different options from mineral, to chemical, lotion to spray. What matters most is finding a product that you can use consistently.
It’s back to school month and the kids probably want to soak up every last bit of summer. Remember to seek out the shade, apply sunscreen every two hours, and stay hydrated.
Temperatures can be misleading. It may be hottest at the end of the day, but the sun is strongest between 10am and 4pm. Plan accordingly.
Worried about getting enough Vitamin D? Don’t look toward the sun for help. Try incorporating more fish and mushrooms into your diet. Many non-dairy milks are also fortified with Vitamin D.
Sun damage doesn’t just come from sunburns. Even a light tan can be a sign of your damaged skin cells trying to protect themselves.
