Boston just honored MLK with a statue that looks like a butt
This is really bad LOL.
History rarely remembers the critics. It remembers the contributors.
Easy choices, hard life. Hard choices, easy life—Jerzy Gregorek
There has hardly been a more significant change in people’s attitudes, habits, and patterns than what we’ve seen in the opening years of the 2020s. The question is less “What’s changed?” and more a question of “What hasn’t changed?”
When your vision for the future looks a lot like the past, you haven’t got much of a future.
The more successful you’ve been in the past, the harder it is to embrace anything new.
What if Christians started having more intelligent, less consumer-oriented, deeper conversations with people? What if our relationship with Christ was grounded more deeply in God’s character and less in the constantly shifting circumstances we see around us?
Nowhere did God promise that the Holy Spirit is a feeling or an emotion.
Is God’s presence synonymous with our ability to detect it? No. So why act like it is?
Sadly, the more outrageous the claim, the more likely someone is to say, “God told me to … .”
Just because God is silent doesn’t mean God is absent.
Prayer doesn’t ‘work’ because a Christian got what they wanted and someone else didn’t.
Prayer is not a button to be pushed; it’s a relationship to be pursued.
Some stay away from Christianity not because they don’t know any Christians, but because they do. careynieuwhof.com/christians-sto… via @cnieuwhof
A church that does not focus on reaching the lost has already started to decline and will eventually die.
Pastors who have accepted that many people they’ll reach will never set foot in their building will reach more people. They can start their own groups and studies where they live with their church and unchurched friends.
Yes, church leaders, people need to keep meeting together. No, it does not have to be in a building owned by the church.
The goal of Christian leadership isn't to get people to follow you. It's to get people to follow Jesus.
The most difficult test of character is not failure. It's success. It's easy to be humble when you're failing. It's much harder when things go well.
If your definition of Christianity is full of hate and divisiveness, it's not Christianity.
