The mechanism through which Trump is paying the troops is the most blatant large Antideficiency Act (ADA) violation in US history. It's also clearly willful. No one has been charged under the ADA before, but violations carry a 2 year jail term. Statute of limitations is 5 years.

Earlier today I posted about how Trump tweeted, in all caps, that parents should not give young kids Tylenol for "virtually any reason." I've gotten endless variations of this reply, from Trump supporters who never even bothered to read their infallible leader's orders.
It’s really bad that the president of the United States is posting all-caps dictates about what vaccines parents should give their kids and when based on god-knows-what. Everyone involved in creating this situation should feel a deep and abiding sense of shame.

Every person fighting over what "side" these shooters are on before the blood has even dried is macabre, gross, petty, and contributing to the problem. This isn't some kind of fucked up team sport. The only sides are the people who would do these shootings, and the rest of us.
I know a lot is happening, but I feel that we've underappreciated the fact that the president is now explicitly on record directing federal prosecutors to become persecutors of his critics. This is a betrayal of his oath and the country, even beyond January 6.
